Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on 8 August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. Her parents who was both dentists and a teacher, recognized and encouraged their daughter's love for drama and theater at the age of a stage novice. This support is more than enough for Audrey to overcome her original goal of becoming a the first primatologist. Her rise to fame as a young actress was quick and marked by her early successes. In 1998, after completing her degree she was invited to be a part of Jeunes Premiers an French television talent-scouting program that was which was run by Canal+. There she received the award for best Young Actress in Beziers Festival of Young Actors. It was this that led her to pursue a professional career as an actor. Tautou studied at Institut Catholique de Paris, attended church when she was a child and was raised Catholic. She has now distanced herself with this background. She pursued a career in modeling in addition to her acting work and is the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel often referred to as The Chanel Muse. A keen photographer, she has recently exhibited at the Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. Her photographs are largely about the spotlight and fame. They also feature a collection of self portraits as well. Audrey Tautou's debut role, as Amelie Poulain's lead actress in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie, landed her international stardom. Amelie has been a box office hit internationally and recognized at many awards shows around the world. Amelie is the most successful film that is French-speak in the US. After this film's success, Tautou appeared in numerous films from British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday of fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood with Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code alongside Tom Hanks.
